In 1889, Avondale officially became a part of Chicago when the city annexed Jefferson Township. European immigrants

Transportation is very accessible as Avondale is close to the CTA Blue Line as well as the major intersections at Belmont and Milwaukee Avenues. As well as by Addison, Diversy
and Pulaski. By car you can reach the neighborhood by using the major interstate I-90/94 and by the metra you can use the
Union/Pacific Northwest rail.
