Park is a family-friendly community just minutes away from the downtown Chicago. The neighborhood features
quiet tree-lined streets and great community parks. Norwood Park has excellent public transportation, fantastic schools, and

located about 13 miles from the Loop. The boundaries for Norwood Park neighborhood are Devon Avenue to the north, Harlem and
Austin avenues to the east, and Northwest Highway and Kennedy Expressway (I-90) to the south, and Canfield Road to the west.

was named in honor of a town from a novel written by Henry Ward Beecher. Noble-Seymor Crippen

the community selected Norwood as its name which came from a novel titled, “Norwood: Or, Village Life in New England”
written by Henry Ward Beecher. However, at that time, there was another village with the same name so the citizens added the
surname “Park” in honor of their forest-country scenery. The area’s first settlers were English
farmers who came to Norwood around 1830. Over time, German, Poles, and Scandinavian immigrants came to the area to work for
the railroad companies and help build the community. By 1893, Norwood Park was annexed to Chicago. Officially,
two neighborhoods make up Northwood Park community: Old Norwood Park and Norwood Park. Old Norwood Park is a quiet residential
area bordered by trees and foliage home to many older historical properties. Real Estate Norwood
Park real-estate offers a great variety of housing options for home buyers. The area features attractive historical Victorian
homes to ranch, Tudor, and Cape Cod style housing, including modern single-family condominiums. Transportation Access to public transportation for Norwood Park residents is easy.

Nightlife Jet's Public House (6148 N Milwaukee Ave, 773-792-2440). Jet’s Public House is one of those
great comfortable neighborhood bars that will make you feel at home. Open in 2005, the bar’s philosophy is to provide
customers a fun friendly environment with great food and drinks at a great prices. Hang out with your friends and catch your
favorite sports team on one of their several flat-screen plasma televisions. Come for the drinks and stay for their delicious
bar food! Brunch is available on the weekends. Open 7 days a week, Mon-Fri 4 pm – 2 am, Sat 11 am – 3 am, and
Sun 11 am – 2 am. The Three Counties Irish Pub (5856 N Milwaukee Ave, 773-631-3351). Open since 2004, Three Counties is a local favorite
pub offering great drink specials and live music. Open Sun through Fri from 11 am – 2 am and Sat from 11 am –

Entertainment Several
major entertainment attractions are just minutes away from Norwood Park community. See a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field or drive south on Lake Shore Drive and visit The Field Museum or the Adler Planetarium. For live theater entertainment, visit Chicago’s downtown theater district featuring
Billy Elliot The Musical and Shrek the Musical. For a list of other theater productions visit Broadway in Chicago. Norwood Park’s local entertainment includes: St. Thecla's The Hair Razor Maze Haunted House (6725 W Devon Ave., 773-792-3077). For the past 20 years, St. Thecla’s parish
has held its annual Halloween Hair Razor Haunted House in the basement of their church. The haunted house is open from mid
October until Halloween night. It’s a scary good time for the entire family. Check their website for specific dates

top dog! The family owned and operated hot dog stand has been serving their Superdawg creation since 1948. Superdawg is a
100% pure beef hot dog (no filler, no pork, or other stuff!) served on a poppy seed bun with mustard, tangy piccalilli, kosher
dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions, and a hot pepper! They also serve delicious Superburgers, chicken sandwiches, malts,
